Problem Statement

To make a Quadbot understand and respond according to different human gestures.

Approach

The Quadbot is a 4 legged robot equipped with 8 servo motors. These servo motors are controlled using an onboard Arduino Mega. The motion of the Quadbot is controlled by 5 different hand gestures. A Leap motion sensor was utilized to understand and differentiate between various gestures. This sensor sends the trigger control to Arduino Mega, which makes the Quadbot execute specific actions corresponding to each gesture. The Quadbot performs a range of motions: moving forward, backward, left, right and a stretch exercise. Leap Motion sensor was programmed in Processing(Leap Motion Library (Java)) which communicated via Serial port with Arduino.
